Sophie Corlett

Sophie is a Managing Associate with a broad international finance practice advising funds, financial institutions and sponsors on their debt financing arrangements. Sophie has a particular focus on commercial real estate finance, advising both lenders and sponsors on the senior and mezzanine debt financing of UK and European real estate assets, in particular development financing and highly structured transactions. She also advises both lenders and borrowers in relation to fund financing, acquisition finance and general corporate lending.

Sophie has significant experience in the Asian market, having started her career in the Linklaters Hong Kong office and subsequently relocating to Singapore. She has also spent time based in our Paris office and on secondment at LaSalle Investment Management and HSBC.

Work highlights

Sophie’s most recent experience includes advising:

• a real estate fund as lender to the holding company of a portfolio of designer retail outlet villages in the UK and Europe
• a real estate fund as lender in relation to the acquisition and development by a Canadian sponsor of a site at Nine Elms Park in Battersea, London
• the arranger and lender to a US sponsor in respect of the acquisition and development of a European portfolio of logistics assets
• the lender to a major US fund in respect of a facility secured against the fund’s European borrowing-base assets
• the arranger and lender in respect of the bridge-to-bond financing arrangements to finance the acquisition of a major Dutch insurance company
• a Canadian sponsor in relation to the financing of an office building in London
• a US sponsor in relation to the development financing of a residential site in Ireland
