Overview
Maria is a Financial Regulation Associate in Linklaters’ New York office. Maria advises on matters involving U.S. securities laws and regulations. She regularly advises global financial institutions, broker-dealers, private funds and asset managers on matters involving registration/exemption issues under U.S. securities laws, regulatory filings, ESG matters, advertising and marketing in the U.S., and developing compliance policies and procedures, among others.
Before joining the Financial Regulation Group, Maria participated in cross-border capital markets transactions involving clients from Latin America.
Pro bono representation in immigration cases: counseling children immigrants and victims of human trafficking seeking to secure legal immigration status in the U.S.

Certified Public Translator in the Republic of Uruguay.
Certified Court Interpreter in New York State.
Education and qualifications
Maria holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law. Maria obtained a B.A. in Literature, Foreign Language and Legal Translation from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay.
She is qualified to practice in New York.
