Proposed Amendments to the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996
The Government of India’s Ministry of Law and Justice has recently released a Draft Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The Draft Bill proposes substantial changes to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 in order to further boost institutional arbitration, reduce court intervention and ensure timely conclusion of arbitral proceedings in India.
