Overview
José has worked in numerous capital market transactions acting for both financial institutions and listed corporates. He has represented and advised corporate and investment banking clients on debt and equity offerings pursuant to Rule 144A, Regulation S and other exemptions from the registration requirements of the United States Securities Act of 1933.
José regularly advises leading corporates and investment banks on a variety of debt and equity transactions, including USMTN programmes drawdowns and updates, rights offerings, and liability management transactions. He has additional experience in mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, and derivatives transactions.
José joined Linklaters in 2022. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked for four years at a first-rank, U.S. law firm in its London and New York offices. While at his prior firm, José was seconded to a bulge-bracket investment bank, where he provided primary legal coverage on interest rate and foreign exchange hedging transactions.
José has advised clients with respect to a variety of debt (Yankee bonds, MTNs) and equity (rights offerings, block trades) transactions. These include, among others, advising whether banks or issuers on bond offerings for BFCM, Caixabank, Crédit Agricole, KBC, and Société Générale.

Education and qualifications
José holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford University and a Master in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID). José obtained his undergraduate degree (with Honors) in Political Science from Swarthmore College. He speaks English, Spanish, and French.
