Overview

Sînziana specialises in global, EU and German antitrust and foreign investment law, in particular in global merger control, foreign investment and foreign subsidies proceedings, antitrust compliance and litigation before the courts of the EU.

She is co-lead of the Sports Sector and editor of the firm’s sports law blog.

Work highlights
  • Carrier Global Corporation on all merger control, foreign investment, foreign subsidies and general antitrust issues in relation to all its major transactions since its spin-off from UTC in 2020, among others its divestment of Chubb, its acquisition of sole control over Toshiba Carrier Corporation and of Viessmann Climate Solutions (the largest European acquisition in 2023), the internal re-organisation and subsequent sale of its security, commercial refrigeration,industrial fire as well as residential and commercial fire businesses
  • Schaeffler on its acquisition of Ewellix, a global manufacturer of linear motion components and actuation solutions

Professional experience

Sînziana has been working at Linklaters since 2015, starting her career in the Brussels office. She is with the Düsseldorf office since 2020.

She is member of the Düsseldorf bar, of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V. and of the Forum Investittionsprüfung e.V.

Education and qualifications

Sînziana completed her legal studies at the University of Heidelberg and holds a Master of Arts from King’s College London. During her legal traineeship, she interned at the Court of Justice of the EU and at the European Commission.

She speaks German, English, French, Romanian and Spanish.
