Linklaters advises Montagu on the acquisition of Emerging Portfolio Funds Research
Linklaters has advised private equity firm Montagu on the acquisition of market-leading data provider Emerging Portfolio Funds Research (EPFR) from Informa, a complex carve-out of a US-headquartered business from the London-listed corporate.
EPFR tracks the flow of funds across global capital markets, allowing financial professionals access to granular information that helps in the identification of investable trends, ultimately driving better investment decision-making. Montagu will provide EPFR with a platform for long-lasting and accelerated growth, building on existing initiatives to drive innovative new products and services. This disposal by Informa forms part of a series of high-profile divestments of non-core assets.
The cross-jurisdictional team was led by our New York and London offices, with corporate partner Daniel Law leading the team. He was supported by corporate partner Will Aitken-Davies, corporate managing associates Matthew O’Connor and Amy Barker, and associate Dulan Dantanarayana. On IP related matters, partner Yohan Liyanage advised. On TMT and carve-out matters, partner Marly Didizian and counsel So Yeon Um advised. Partners Andrew Gaines and Sinead Casey advised on employment matters.
This deal continues Linklaters’ track record of executing complex carve-out transactions for private equity clients and is Linklaters’ third carveout of a US business for Montagu, having previously advised on Montagu’s acquisition of Miraclon and Janes' Information Group.
