Linklaters advises EBRD on its investment in R.Power
Linklaters has advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on its €75m investment in R.Power, a Polish utility-scale solar photovoltaic developer and an independent power producer with renewables portfolio in Poland and other European Union markets, including Romania, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
This is the EBRD’s first co-investment alongside the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF), a dedicated commercial fund targeting infrastructure investments in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The combined capital increase provided by the EBRD and 3SIIF is expected to support R.Power’s long-term growth strategy, including its plan to achieve a 1 GWp operating solar photovoltaic portfolio across the EU within the next two years.
This investment marks a milestone for R.Power, as well as for the EBRD and 3SIIF, as they work together to support the growth of the renewable energy sector in the EU.
The Linklaters team was led by Michał Szperzyński (managing associate) supported by Christopher Quinn (counsel), Zuzanna Oldfield (associate), Justyna Tuleja (associate), Wiktoria Burdzy (junior associate) and Iryna Fonotova (visiting lawyer). Jakub Dąbrowski (managing associate) advised on the project aspects of the transaction, with Wojciech Podlasin (managing associate), Barbara Wanat (senior associate) and Yuliia Stepanyk (associate) advising on the competition law matters. Daniel Cousens (partner) supervised the transaction.
The collaborative reach for this deal extended across Linklaters' network, with expert teams contributing from our Berlin, Lisbon, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, and Milan offices, demonstrating the firm's integrated approach and international capabilities in facilitating complex cross-border investments.
