Linklaters proud to sponsor Women of the Year Awards for third year running
Celebrating the achievements of extraordinary women from across the UK and around the world, Linklaters was delighted to sponsor the Women of the Year Awards 2024.
The Awards brought together over 450 women who had been selected for their terrific achievements across industries and communities.
Aedamar Comiskey, Linklaters’ Senior Partner and Chair, had the honour of presenting the Linklaters Pioneering Woman of the Year Award. This went to Deepali Nangia, Partner at SpeedInvest, for her work in promoting women's access to funding and helping women to overcome the financial obstacles encountered by female entrepreneurs.
Deepali focuses on gender lens investing and fintech opportunities in emerging markets. Previously, she co-founded Alma Angels, a community dedicated to increasing the presence of female angel investors backing female-led companies. She also collaborated with Softbank's Emerge Program to support under-represented founders across Europe.
Aedamar Comiskey commented:
“A wonderful event celebrating many hugely talented and inspiring women. The power of diverse thinking and leadership was very evident for all to see this afternoon. It was a privilege to award Deepali with our Linklaters’ Pioneering Woman of the Year Award. Deepali’s work in helping to break down barriers for diverse entrepreneurs is fantastic – she’s a very deserving winner.”
On receiving the Award, Deepali Nangia said:
“A big thank you to Linklaters for the Award! Under-represented founders have been my lifeblood for many years now – a hugely under-estimated and under-invested asset class. But the tide is finally turning and fast.”
