Overview

Atdhe is an Associate within Linklaters’ Real Estate department in Brussels. He provides advice to clients on various aspects of Public Law and Public Real Estate Law issues, including environment, zoning and urban planning, soil, and permits. While he typically engages in general advisory roles, his main focus is on real estate transactions (asset deals, share deals, and real estate financing files) and extends to various sectors such as offices, residential, logistics, industrial, energy, retirement homes, and hotels.

With a broad experience in all Public Real Estate Law matters, Atdhe provides comprehensive services encompassing advisory support for transactions and ongoing operations, conducting due diligence assessments, evaluating the feasibility of real estate projects, and handling permit disputes across Belgium.

Additionally, Atdhe has contributed in the past to the Chambers Global Practice Guide on Environmental Law for Belgium, and the Lex Mundi Global Climate Change Guide for Belgium.

Work highlights

Atdhe’s prior and most recent experience includes*:

  • Assisting Cityforward’s lenders with the acquisition of a portfolio of 21 buildings in the Brussels-Capital Region from the European Commission for €440m.
  • Assisting a Belgian real estate developer with the structuring and disposal of 10 retail parks in Belgium and Portugal for €280m.
  • Representing and advising a German retailer chain on the redevelopment and extension of its stores in the Walloon Region (permit application processes, and permit disputes in front of administrative bodies and the Belgian Council of State).
  • Representing and advising a world leading petrochemical company on the operation of its activities in the Walloon Region (permit disputes in front of administrative bodies and the Belgian Council of State).
  • Representing and advising a company on the construction and operation of a biomass plant in the Walloon Region (feasibility study, permit application process, and permit disputes in front of administrative bodies).

Professional experience

Previously, Atdhe was seconded to the Legal & Regulatory Affairs department at Infrabel.

Education and qualifications

He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and a Specialized Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Public Real Estate Law from the UCLouvain (Saint-Louis – Bruxelles). His Master’s thesis on the Energy sector was awarded with a prize from the Belgian Federal Commission for Electricity and Gas Regulation (“CREG”).
