Overview
Gaëlle is a counsel in our Intellectual Property, Technology, Medias and Telecommunications practice in Paris. A Physics and Chemistry ingénieur with a master’s degree in molecular biology, she is specialised in patent litigation and advice. Gaëlle is mainly involved in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sector.
She is a member of several associations including the AIPPI for which she is co-head of the French Patent Committee and Member of the Standing Committee on Patents. Gaëlle is also a member of APEB and epi.
She was seconded to a US pharmaceutical company in the UK in 2006-2007 and to a US law firm in Washington DC in 2009.
Work highlights
Previous experience includes*:
- assisting a US research institution in defending a portfolio of 10 biotech patents in EPO oppositions against multiple opponents, as part of a pan European, multi-firm team of patent attorneys and solicitors, including liaising with US firms in connection with related proceedings
- assisting an EU institution against patent infringement claims in France, including obtaining revocation of two patents on document authentication
- assisting the French subsidiary of a US company against patent infringement claims based on four medical device patents
- assisting a German company in patent infringement proceedings regarding veterinary genetic typing
- assisting a generics company in French revocation proceedings of a pre-EPC2000 second medical use patent directed to a dosage regimen, as part of a pan European litigation
Education and qualifications
Gaëlle holds a Master's in IP Law (Master de Droit Privé, M2, Propriété Industrielle) from Paris II Assas (2011).
She qualified as a European Patent Attorney, EQE, in 2007 and as a French Patent Attorney, Conseil en Propriété Industrielle, in 2006. Gaëlle obtained a degree in Patent Law, from CEIPI, Université de Strasbourg (2003).
Gaëlle also holds a DEA (Master’s Degree) in Molecular Biology of the Cell, from Paris XI Orsay and an “ingénieur” degree, focused on Physics and Chemistry from ESPCI Paris (2000).
