Overview
Vinod is a Counsel in Linklaters’ U.S. Structured Finance Practice. He has experience representing dealers and buy-side clients in connection with a variety of structured finance, derivatives, and debt capital markets transactions.
Vinod has experience advising U.S. and non-U.S. banks and other market participants on numerous aspects of the derivatives regulatory framework in the United States, including margin, trade execution, clearing, business conduct, reporting and other regulatory requirements. He has experience registering (and de-registering) swap dealers, both foreign and domestic.
He has worked on transactional matters while based in New York, London and Singapore and has been on secondment with a European financial institution’s U.S.-based swap dealer.
Selected experience* includes advising:
- International financial institutions, as well as borrowers and buy-side clients, on more than 50 deal contingent transactions in the past five years, including related risk transfer structures.
- Financial institution clients on structured OTC derivatives, including loan-linked and other bespoke credit derivatives.
- U.S. security-based swap dealers on the application of the SEC’s margin rules to structured product issuances.
- The Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee of the Americas on credit derivative issues, including CDS credit events and governance-related matters.
- A private fund on insurance-related risk transfer solutions, including taking exposure to federally insured mortgage portfolios via a combination of credit derivatives and structured investments.
