Overview

Jarrett is an associate in Linklaters’ Litigation, Arbitration, & Investigations group in the firm’s New York office. Jarrett focuses on regulatory enforcement and compliance matters including white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and complex commercial and multi-district civil litigation. Jarrett has represented a broad range of multinational companies and executives in civil litigation and regulatory investigations regarding federal securities laws and complex commercial disputes.

Work highlights
  • Advised several bank executives in the digital asset industry regarding US securities law in connection with investigations by the SEC and DOJ, including SEC interview preparation.
  • Represented individuals in federal criminal securities trial, drafted numerous witness direct and cross examination outlines, including expert testimony, and motions on expert witness admissibility.
  • Represented a multinational electronic component designer manufacturer regarding a contract dispute in federal court, prepared witnesses for depositions, coordinated with expert witnesses on written reports, and drafted motions regarding expert witness admissibility.
  • Defended a multinational generic pharmaceutical company in connection with numerous multidistrict class action suits, successfully dismissed for federal impossibility pre-emption.
  • Orchestrated an internal investigation for a U.S. company in the infrastructure industry and conducted in connection with a federal investigation into anticompetitive conduct.

Professional experience

Jarrett is committed to pro bono work focusing on civil rights and has worked to fight police misconduct and discriminatory legislation. Jarrett previously represented two men in federal court for violation of their First and Fourth Amendment rights by local police and successfully defeated defendants’ motion for summary judgment on qualified immunity and subsequent appeal to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jarrett first chaired five depositions of defendant witnesses.

Education and qualifications

Jarrett holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School where he was the Senior Online Editor for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and represented Cornell Law School at a mock trial competition.

Jarrett also received a B.A. from Ursinus College, magna cum laude with distinguished honors, where he majored in Philosophy of Ethics and English Literature.

Jarrett is a member of the New York State Bar and admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York.
