In her investigations practice, Jasmine has advised on internal investigations and regulatory investigations commenced by the UK’s SFO, CMA, FCA, PRA, HMRC, Ofwat and the Environment Agency, the DOJ and SEC in the USA, the European Commission and other European regulators.

Jasmine has represented individuals and companies in criminal proceedings and related investigations including with respect to fraudulent trading practices, environmental offences and breaches of privacy.

In her advisory work, Jasmine helps clients manage risk around bribery and corruption, sanctions and money laundering.

Jasmine has spent time on secondments to a multinational energy company and a large retail bank, working with clients on anti-bribery investigations and regulatory risk. 

Work highlights 

Jasmine’s recent matters include:

  • Assisting various individuals and global financial institutions with investigations and criminal procedures relating to historic trading practices (including LIBOR, forex, cum-ex and secondary markets).
  • Advising a multinational energy client on investigations by global enforcers into allegations of criminal conduct by third party agents.
  • Assisting a retail bank with investigations arising from a number of whistleblowing reports and advising on the adequacy of the relevant systems and controls environment.
  • Advising a listed extractives industry client on mitigation of bribery and corruption risk in connection with overseas business.
  • Acting for Southern Water in connection with the largest criminal investigation the Environment Agency has conducted in its 25-year history. The team provided legal and strategic advice in the investigation and resulting criminal proceedings sentenced in the Crown Court in July 2021. This case resulted in judicial guidance being given on the application of the relevant.
