Overview

Sophia is a Managing Associate in the M&A Corporate practice in Stockholm. She has extensive experience with cross-border M&A and carve-out transactions as well as capital markets and company law.  She regularly advises private equity, financial institutions and corporate clients  on all types of transactional work

Work highlights

Transactions of significance where substantial involvement can be disclosed have included:

  • The co-lead investors Altor, GIC, Hy24 and Just Climate on the c.€1.5bn private placement in H2 Green Steel
  • The private equity arm of an international investment bank on its role as lead investor various equity investment into the lithium-ion battery manufacturer Northvolt

  • Nasdaq on the divestment of its European power trading and clearing business to European Energy Exchange (EEX), a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse

  • Orsted on its investment into Liquid Wind AB’s FlagshipONE e-methanol project.
  • The underwriting banks in relation to the IPO of EQT on Nasdaq Stockholm
  • EQT on its takeover of Stendörren Fastigheter AB

Education and qualifications

Sophia holds a Jur. kand, LL.M. as well as a bachelor’s degree in business and economics, both from Uppsala University. Previous to this, Sophia studied law at Université de Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), France, and economics at San Diego State University, USA.

Sophia speaks Swedish, English and French.

Sophia is a member of the Swedish Bar Association.
