Overview
David is a Managing Associate in our Energy & Infrastructure practice in London. He regularly advises sponsors and lenders (including IFIs, DFIs and ECAs) in relation to project financed energy and infrastructure projects in Europe, Asia and Africa, in particular in the low carbon and renewable space. David also has specialist experience advising sponsors on acquisitions, disposals, and joint venture arrangements in respect of assets across the energy and infrastructure sectors, including opportunities arising from the energy transition.
Work highlights
David's recent experience includes:
- Verkor gigafactory (France): advising the lenders on the construction, development and multi-source debt financing (including EIB, BPI and commercial lenders) of a gigafactory complex in France.
- Northvolt: advising the lead equity investor to the Northvolt gigafactory project in Sweden.
- H2 Green Steel: advising the lead investors in relation to their proposed investment into H2 Green Steel, a Swedish green steel manufacturing project.
- Dogger Bank: advising SSE and Equinor on the sale of a combined 20% interest in, and on their ongoing shareholder arrangements in, the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm, the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
- East Anglia ONE: advising Green Investment Group on its acquisition of a 40% stake in the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm and on the financing of its ongoing construction funding obligations
- Moray East: advising sponsors on the project financing of the Moray East offshore wind farm, including advising sponsors on their ongoing shareholder arrangements.
- Nacala, Mozambique and Malawi: advising the financiers (including JBIC, NEXI and AfDB) on the US$2.73bn project financing of the construction/refurbishment and operation of a 912 km railway line through Mozambique and Malawi as well as the construction and operation of a port terminal in Nacala-à-Velha, Mozambique.
