Overview
Mariana is a Legal Consultant in the Group of the Lisbon office Finance Energy & Infrastructure Department.
Her recent practice has focused on project finance and project development, assisting in international project finance projects, being involved in the contract and legal project management, analysis and drafting of securities contracts, and the corporate restructuring necessary for the projects.
Furthermore, Mariana has experience in Commercial & Corporate Law, including Employment, SPA and Real Estate Law matters, and in Dispute Resolution involving Public Law and corporate disputes.
Mariana assists national and international clients such as banks, investment funds, public entities and corporate clients that operate in the financial, real estate, energy, infrastructure, pharmaceutical and telecom on national and cross-border matters, in Portugal and PALOP countries, such as Angola and Moçambique.
Professional experience
Mariana joined the Lisbon office of Linklaters in 2022 as Junior Associate, and worked in the Corporate, Finance, and Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations department. She became a fully qualified lawyer in 2024 and got promoted to Legal Consultant and is currently working in the Linklaters Lisbon Finance Department in the Energy & Infrastructure Group.
Before joining Linklaters Mariana did an internship at local law firm J+Legal and PACCV.
During her high school and university years Mariana worked as volunteer in many different projects, both domestically and overseas, in a variety of roles, from volunteer volleyball coach, to fundraising coordinator to team leader in social inclusion projects and student association, to assisting in a psychiatric center during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education and qualifications
Mariana holds a Law Degree of the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon (2022).
During her student years Mariana participated in the DEU Moot court, and in addition to her many volunteer work projects, she worked part-time as a sales assistant, event promoter and usher.
She is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2024.
Mariana speaks Portuguese and English.
