Overview
Florian is specialised in dispute resolution in national and international disputes, including litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, in particular in the energy sector.
Work highlights
- Federal Republic of Germany: advising in two high profile arbitration proceedings against the Toll Collect Consortium and Toll Collect GmbH in connection with the delay in launching the HGV toll system (amount in dispute: €11bn).
- Internationally active wind farm developer: advising on claims in connection with delays in the construction of an offshore wind farm (amount in dispute over €1bn) as well as representation in a DIS arbitration to enforce a performance bond (amount in dispute approx. €23m).
- German energy company: representing on claims for compensation and damages arising from the provision of power generation capacity in a newly constructed hard coal-fired power plant under two long-term power supply agreements (amount in dispute over €1bn).
- International energy company: representing in ICC arbitration proceedings against an Austrian TSO regarding the nullity and termination of a long-term gas transportation contract (Amount in dispute: approx. €200m).
- International technology company: advising on an ICC arbitration concerning outstanding remuneration claims against an EPC contractor and on the defence against claims under bank guarantees.
- International investment company: representing by giving strategic and litigation advice to the shareholder of a German company on a climate protection lawsuit aimed at a significant reduction of the company's CO2 emissions and thus at adjusting its business model.
Professional experience
Florian joined Linklaters in 2017. He was appointed Associate in 2020 and Managing Associate in 2024.
Education and qualifications
Florian studied law at the University of Mainz and worked at Linklaters during his legal traineeship.
He speaks German and English.
