Florian is specialised in dispute resolution in national and international disputes, including litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, in particular in the energy sector.

Work highlights

• Federal Republic of Germany: advising in two high profile arbitration proceedings against the Toll Collect Consortium and Toll Collect GmbH in connection with the delay in launching the HGV toll system (amount in dispute: €11bn).
• Internationally active wind farm developer: advising on claims in connection with delays in the construction of an offshore wind farm (amount in dispute over €1bn) as well as representation in a DIS arbitration to enforce a performance bond (amount in dispute approx. €23m).
• German energy company: representing on claims for compensation and damages arising from the provision of power generation capacity in a newly constructed hard coal-fired power plant under two long-term power supply agreements (amount in dispute over €1bn).
• International energy company: representing in ICC arbitration proceedings against an Austrian TSO regarding the nullity and termination of a long-term gas transportation contract (Amount in dispute: approx. €200m).
• International technology company: advising on an ICC arbitration concerning outstanding remuneration claims against an EPC contractor and on the defence against claims under bank guarantees.
• International investment company: representing by giving strategic and litigation advice to the shareholder of a German company on a climate protection lawsuit aimed at a significant reduction of the company's CO2 emissions and thus at adjusting its business model.

Florian studied law at the University of Mainz and worked at Linklaters during his legal traineeship.
