Overview

Gloria has extensive experience advising investment bank and corporate clients on a broad range of international capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on debt and equity-linked bonds, bank regulatory capital, corporate hybrids and liability management in Hong Kong and across Asia.

 

Gloria completed a three-month secondment to the debt capital markets transaction management team at HSBC from September 2011 and a four-month secondment to the fixed income transaction management team at Morgan Stanley from September 2008.

 

Work highlights

Gloria has advised on many of the market’s most significant capital markets deals. These include advising:

  • the joint lead managers on CK Infrastructure Holdings’ €600m guaranteed bond issue
  • the dealer managers and joint lead managers on Chong Hing Bank’s exchange offer and issuance of US$383mTier 2 subordinated notes, the first exchange offer and Tier 2 issuance by a Hong Kong bank following the coming into effect of the Hong Kong resolution regime
  • the joint lead managers on Castle Peak Power Company’s US$500m energy transition bonds
  • the joint lead managers on the issue by the HKSAR government of US$1bn trust certificates
  • the joint lead managers on MTR Corporation’s US$600m green bond issue
  • Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) on the issue of US$500m Tier 1 perpetual non-cumulative preference shares, the first Basel III-compliant Tier 1 preference share issuance by a Hong Kong bank
  • the joint lead managers on Charoen Pokphand Foods’ US$290m exchangeable bond issue, the first exchangeable bond by Thailand since the Asian financial crisis
  • the Hong Kong subsidiary of an international bank on the issuance of perpetual non-cumulative convertible preference shares qualifying as Additional Tier 1 capital under Hong Kong capital regulations. This was the first Basel III-compliant Tier 1 preference share issuance by a Hong Kong bank

 

Education and qualifications

Gloria studied business administration at York University, Canada, and law at the University of Cambridge. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in laws from the University of Hong Kong.

 

She speaks English and Chinese (Cantonese).
