Work It Out: The Employment Q&A Podcast Series

Work It Out: The Employment Q&A Series, is our new bite-sized podcast series, where Partners from our UK employment team answer a series of questions on some of the most topical, contentious, and challenging areas of HR and employment law.

You can listen to the views of our employment law Partners here, as we release new episodes covering some of the most complex issues and developments which impact the world of work.

Recently published episodes include:

  • The use of WhatsApp messages at work: discussing the use of WhatsApp at work, why this is an increasing issue for employers in the context of workplace investigations and disclosure, if an employer has a right to access and rely on such messages and whether it makes a difference if the messages are held on a personal or work device, and the litigation risk and data privacy issues to consider.
  • The investigating NED: looking at the role of non-executive directors to investigate and make decisions about workplace issues, from grievances to disciplinaries, to complaints from whistleblowers and investigations into workplace culture, why NEDs are well-placed to take on the role, what will be expected of them, and mitigating risks of conflict with existing NED duties and responsibilities.
  • AI in the workplace: discussing why employers should be considering its use now, the employment legal risks of employers using AI and the risks of AI being used by the wider workforce, and how employers reassure their workforces that their jobs will not be displaced by robots!

Stay tuned as more episodes will be released in due course. If you’d like to speak to a member of the team about any of the issues discussed, please do get in touch.
