The remit of the team has widened as the market has grown to incorporate a growing number of digital infrastructure assets, including data centres, fibre, towers and satellites. These transactions often involve multiple complexities of bespoke corporate and financing structures, a regulated sector in relation to both telecoms and investments, and key commercial contracts, playing into the combined strengths of our market leading corporate, finance, telecoms and regulatory teams.

  • AirTrunk:
  • Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund and PSP Investment on the acquisition of AirTrunk, a leading Asian data centre operator.
  • The lead structuring banks on the acquisition financing for a consortium, comprising Blackstone and the CPPIB, on the acquisition of AirTrunk for an implied enterprise value of A$24bn (approximately US$16.1bn). This represents the largest buyout in Australia in 2024.
  • IPI Partners: advising on debt financing for the acquisition of DigiPlex, a leading owner and operator of data centres in the Nordics, with eight data centres across Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
  • Ardian: advising on the acquisition of Verne (formerly Verne Global), a leading data centre platform headquartered in the UK and diversified across Northern Europe, from Digital 9 Infrastructure plc.
  • Actis: advising on the acquisition of Nabiax's 11 data centres located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and the US.

  • Canada Pension Plan Investment Board: advising on its acquisition of a 17.5% interest in NetCo, the most extensive telecoms network in Italy, for up to €2bn as part of a transaction which values the business at an enterprise value of approximately €18.8bn. Awarded Europe Fibre Deal of the Year at the TMT Finance M&A EMEA Awards 2025.
  • Infrafibre Germany: advising the lender group and hedge providers in relation to the existing €500m senior facilities with Infrafibre Germany amidst sale of the Infrafibre Group. The acquisition will strengthen the position of UGG as a provider of fibre optic infrastructure and accelerate the planned expansion of 2.2m households across Germany with modern fibre optic technology.
  • InfraVia Capital Partners: advising on its £4.5bn joint venture with Liberty Global and Telefónica to build a new fibre network in the UK. Awarded Europe Fibre Deal of the Year at the TMT Finance M&A EMEA Awards 2024.
  • CK Hutchison: advising on the merger of Three UK and Vodafone UK, combining their respective telecommunications operations in the UK to create the largest mobile operator in the UK.
  • Vodafone/Altice joint venture: advising Vodafone on the establishment of the €7bn joint venture with Altice Group for the deployment of fibre access infrastructure in Germany, and on the associated €4.6bn financing.
  • Ardian Infrastructure: advising on the acquisition of Mila, the largest telecoms provider in Iceland that owns a comprehensive network comprised of fixed broadband, mobile access and backhaul covering the entire country.
  • Predica Prévoyance Dialogue du Crédit Agricole and Vauban Infrastructure Partners: advising on the €1bn acquisition of a 45% stake in Bluevia Fibra, a company holding Telefónica's FTTH network mainly in Spanish rural areas.
  • InfraVia/eircom joint venture: advising the banks on the €1bn financing of a joint venture between InfraVia and eircom to create a dedicated fibre company focused on the deployment of FTTH across the Republic of Ireland.
  • TDC NET: advising the lenders on the €3.3bn common debt platform for TDC NET that delivers mobile and fixed broadband infrastructure, with a focus on 5G and fibre roll-out.
  • I Squared Capital: advising on the US$2.15bn acquisition of the infrastructure division of GTT Communications, which provides pan-European, North American, sub-sea and trans-Atlantic fibre network and data centre infrastructure services to customers.
  • Unsere Grüne Glasfaser: advising the banks on the €3.35bn financing of Unsere Grüne Glasfaser, a 50/50 joint venture of Allianz and Telefónica, in connection with the roll out of an open-access FTTH network across Germany.

  • A consortium of leading telecoms operators, including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica, T-Mobile, Verizon and Vodafone: advising on the formation of a venture with Ericsson, to combine and sell network Application Programming Interfaces on a global scale.
  • Bharti Global: advising the international investment arm of Bharti Enterprises (a leading Indian business group with world-class companies in telecoms, digital infrastructure and space communications) on its acquisition of a c.24.5% interest in BT Group plc from Altice UK S à.r.l.
  • Vodafone on:
  • its €16.2bn strategic partnership with GIP and KKR and subsequent bid to acquire Vantage Towers.
  • its £18bn separation of its towers business to create Vantage Towers and their subsequent €2.3bn listing.
  • the €1.3bn sale of a further 10 percent stake in Oak Holdings 1 GmbH, which controls Vantage Towers AG.
  • the sale of Vodafone Italia to Swisscom (acting as antitrust advisor).
  • CK Hutchison on:
  • the €10bn sale of its pan-European portfolio of towers assets to Cellnex.
  • the creation of a €3.4bn joint venture comprising Wind Tre’s mobile and fixed telecoms network and wholesale business, and investment by CK Hutchison and EQT into the joint venture.
  • DigitalBridge: advising on the acquisition of macro tower portfolios from Sýn (formerly Vodafone Iceland) and Nova, two of the largest mobile network operators in Iceland, and related financing.
  • EdgePoint Infrastructure: advising on the US$750m sale and leaseback acquisition of more than 4,200 telecommunications towers from PT Indosat Tbk, one of Indonesia’s leading digital telecoms providers.
  • Zain Saudi Arabia: advising on the c.US$1bn sale and leaseback of its entire portfolio of telecoms towers in Saudi Arabia to investors led by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
  • Allianz Capital Partners: advising on the €530m acquisition of a 10% stake in ATC Europe from American Tower and long-term partnership.
  • A Canadian leading pension planning company: advising on its sale of a controlling stake to CDPQ in Connexa, a leading designer, builder and operator of New Zealand’s most comprehensive mobile tower infrastructure network.
