Trustee Agenda Summer 2024
Welcome to our Summer Edition of Trustee Agenda.
With the majority of schemes now in surplus, many trustee boards are reviewing whether their long-term targets remain appropriate. Beyond buy-out, new options for consolidation are opening up in the market, and the option of running on the scheme with the potential for a surplus to be generated is gaining traction. In its recent consultation, the Government explored options for making surplus extraction easier, as well as the possibility of establishing a public sector consolidator. You can read more about this topic in our article.
Meanwhile, the pensions dashboards project has started to pick up momentum again following its “reset” last year. We summarise all the latest developments and highlight the actions trustees should be taking now.
Finally, we highlight what the introduction of carer’s leave means in practice for pension schemes.
As always, do please let us know if there are any areas which you would like us to explore in future editions of Trustee Agenda.
