DC Agenda Autumn 2024

Welcome to our Autumn Edition of DC Agenda

With a new Labour Government looking to make their mark on pensions policy, in this edition we start by taking a look at the impact on DC schemes of the new Pensions Schemes Bill announced in the King’s Speech and Labour’s promised pensions review, both of which indicate a broad intention to continue with the Mansion House reforms.

We’ve also included an article on the FCA’s recent consultation on the new value for money (VFM) framework for default arrangements in workplace DC schemes, which looks to shift the focus from cost to value and builds on the work done in 2023 by the FCA, the Pensions Regulator and the DWP to reform the VFM framework.

Finally, changing tack slightly, we include an article on some recent decisions of the First-tier Tribunal which demonstrate the limits on the extent of the Regulator’s powers when it comes to enforcing DC compliance.

We hope you enjoy this edition of DC Agenda. As always, if you have any comments, or topics you would like us to cover, please do get in touch with your usual Linklaters contact.
