Autumn 2023 Investor Agenda
Welcome to our Autumn Edition of Investor Agenda
It is hard to believe it is almost a year since the mini-budget precipitated the LDI crisis in the pensions industry, the repercussions of which are still being felt. In this edition we cover the Work and Pensions Committee report, following its earlier inquiry, and recommendations in response to that crisis.
We also discuss the aspects of the Mansion House proposals relevant to pension scheme investment, and the FCA’s recent extension of LTAF availability. There is a common theme here: government has recognised the enormous amount of wealth “locked up” in UK pension schemes and clearly has views about how it might be invested in what it perceives to be the interests of the country as a whole. Interesting times lie ahead, I think, as we see to what extent trustees are prepared to co-operate.
As always, if you have any feedback on Investor Agenda or topics you would like us to over, please do get in touch with me or your usual Linklaters contacts.
