Overview
Nuno Devesa Neto is an Associate in the Corporate Department of the Lisbon office.
His practice has focused on Corporate & Commercial Law with special emphasis on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and investments, corporate restructuring, and private equity transactions, assisting clients in the due diligence process and negotiation phase, acting for sellers and investors.
Nuno advises national and international clients such as banks, private equity funds and corporate clients that operate in the financial, health care, infrastructure, services, technology and renewable energy sectors, on complex domestic and cross-border matters, involving European, and UK jurisdictions.
Nuno is furthermore actively involved in the Portuguese Institute for Corporate Governance (IPCG), in its Executive Accompaniment and Monitoring Committee (CEAM), assisting the CEAM on assessing the compliance of the Corporate Governance Reports of issuer companies with the IPCG Corporate Governance Code, providing guidance to issuer companies on corporate governance matters, and developing the Annual Monitoring Report.
Professional experience
Nuno joined the Linklater’s Lisbon office in 2021 as Junior Associate, becoming an Associate in 2023, working in the Corporate Department.
He has also gained experience working in the Finance and Dispute Resolution Departments of the Lisbon office.
Before that he did a Summer Traineeship at the local law firm PLMJ (2019).
Education and qualifications
Nuno holds a Law Degree of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (2019), and a Master’s degree in Corporate Law by the aforementioned Faculty of Law, with a dissertation entitled Artificial Intelligence within Corporate Governance (2021).
During his academic studies Nuno obtained various awards for his academic achievements, including the Wolter Kluwer award, and awards for the top 3% students of the University of Coimbra.
He was active in the European Law Students´ Association (ELSA), as President and Treasurer of ELSA’s local group in Coimbra.
Nuno also worked at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra as a Monitor for the subjects of Corporate & Commercial Law.
He is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2023.
Nuno speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English.
