Overview
Oliver brings significant experience in structuring and executing cross-border sponsor-backed leveraged buyouts in the European market, including restructurings, recapitalisations and refinancings across the capital structure.
Oliver is the co-head of Linklaters’ Leveraged Finance practice. He has been a partner since 2016 and joined Linklaters’ banking team in 2006.
Before joining the firm, Oliver worked for Allens, Linklaters’ integrated alliance partner in Australia.
Work highlights
Oliver has led on a number of significant complex financing transactions. Recent experience includes advising:
- The Carlyle Group on the US$2bn cov-lite and holdco PIK financing for its acquisition of Autoform;
- The Carlyle Group on the €1.32bn cov-lite financing for its acquisition of Flender GmbH;
- The Carlyle Group on the CHF413.5m cov-lite unitranche financing for its acquisition of Groupe Acrotec SA;
- The Carlyle Group on the unitranche financing for its acquisition of Anthesis;
- Hg on the financing for its take private acquisition by way of scheme of arrangement for Ideagen plc;
- Hg on the €1.4bn cov-lite senior, second lien and holdo PIK facilities for Team.blue;
- Hg on the unitranche financing for its acquisition of JTL Software; and
- Hg and PAI on the financing for the acquisition of Azets.
Professional experience
Oliver is rated by Chambers & Partners and is an occasional speaker at Loan Markets Association conferences in London.
Education and qualifications
Oliver has a law degree with honours from Bond University (Australia) and a commerce degree majoring in accounting and finance from University of Western Australia.
