Welcome to our Spring Edition of DC Agenda. And with the New Year comes a number of new things for DC schemes and providers to think about.
The main news discussed in this Agenda is the Government’s consultation focused on scaling up DC pensions, in the form of “the Pensions Investment Review: Unlocking the UK pensions market for growth”. The scale and ambition behind this consultation has the potential, if successfully implemented, to radically alter the DC market in the UK.
We then also discuss the FCA’s “Advice Guidance Boundary Review – proposed targeted support reforms for pensions”, which seeks to address the long-standing, knotty problem of how to get some degree of financial advice or guidance to the many consumers who either will not pay for, or are not entirely suitable candidates for, “full-form”, regulated independent financial advice. Efforts to fill this gap are very welcome.
