Human rights and Modern Slavery
We recognise the important role we have to play in ensuring that human rights abuses and modern slavery have no place in both our own business and through our supply chain. As a key part of our responsible sourcing programme, we have implemented a range of measures to help us identify, monitor and take action. These include targeted risk assessment and due diligence in high-risk categories and geographies as well as more extensive awareness-raising and training, both for our own people and our suppliers.
Our longstanding global ESG practice, which includes our Business and Human Rights practice, has many years of experience advising on environmental, social and governance issues across a wide range of sectors and contexts. We have been at the forefront of supporting clients on navigating emerging soft law business and human rights standards, advising on business ethics issues and environmental and climate matters (which often overlap with human rights concerns), and designing governance frameworks, compliance systems and crisis response strategies. Human rights is also a leading part of our firmwide programme of pro bono legal advice.
